After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in English, Paul embarked on a sportswriting career, plying his trade for a short time in newspapers before landing a job with a national sports monthly, Sport Magazine. There, he wrote feature stories, interviewing some of the biggest names in sports including Kobe Bryant, Derek Jeter, Tim Duncan, and Oscar De La Hoya.
Paul then moved on to freelancing, continuing with sports but also writing, editing, and consulting for Sony PlayStation and its sports titles. After a couple years as a copywriter at an ad agency in Phoenix, Paul now does freelance writing and editing in a variety of disciplines.
He was raised in the Philippines and Los Angeles, studied for a year in London, and has been to all 50 states.
